How to Heal ModState Podcast Episode 228

Welcome back to the ModState Podcast.

**Disclaimer** John meant to say Loretta Lynch when referencing Susan Rice and Joe Biden.

In this episode John and Nate dive into two different topics. The topics meld together through the episode. Nate proposes that the GOP are at a pivotal time to rebrand themselves from the party of Trump to the party of the GOP they once were.

Throughout the episode the conversation pivots to tough questions for Nate. The overall national conversation has been about race, social justice, and a new America. How should we be helping underprivileged communities. Is a Biden presidency just another crony administration? Or is it a way to reset?

Race can be a tricky topic to navigate as two white male hosts. In an effort to move forward in America. The goal should be to create a more equitable society so there are ample opportunities for listening and conversation.

Welcome back to the ModState Podcast.

After two big SCOTUS wins for the LBGTQ community and some protection for Dreamers, (Jack) DeViney and Nate dive into the implications for each.

As we know the win for Dreamers does not mean they will be able to stay or that there is a path to citizenship however the SCOTUS determined that the Trump administration did not have a good argument. How does this look in the future.

In the second half of the episode, the pair then dive into the difference of opinion regarding the Title VII win for the LBGTQ community. How does this play in the religious community?

Welcome back to the ModState Podcast.

The ModState team stands in solidarity with those who are feeling pain and suffering in these times. The fight isn't over until there is equality of opportunity and these times have shed an uncomfortable light on the reality of America today.

John and Nate discuss the recent events, protest and unrest, in the United States, following the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd. The discussion seaways into the leadership of the President of the United States and ends with a demand for systemic change in a broken system.

In light of the nation wide protest ModState will stand principled for the freedom of speech and the right to demonstrate. Maybe the most important constitutional right of them all.

Be safe.

Episode 221: the 'Rona, Bill Gates, Biden v Trump

Covid-19, Bill Gates (and the amazing technicolor "Conspiracies without Theories"), and Joe "This is a Big F***ing Deal" Biden (D-DE) versus Donald "Grab 'Em by the [Meow]" Trump (R-FL)…

...whew! All by his lonesome again, Jack DeViney probably needed to follow Hunter S. with drink or four plus a visit with Miss Jane outdoors, but alas! It was not to be. SAD!

As promised, we did our due diligence and provide links regarding our research and statements in the episode, and they're cited below as follows:

https://bing.com/covid?form=COVD07 - the latest numbers on Covid-19 cases, deaths and recoveries. You can view the numbers from all of Earth, by country or by state (if you're in America; not sure about north and south Holland).

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bill-gates-vaccinations-depopulation/ - Snopes fact-check showing that, no, Gates did NOT say the idea behind giving away vaccines and potable drinking water systems to developing nations was to reduce the population (i.e., kill people). Not even close, actually. Lie better, Bobby, Jr.!

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/18/bill-and-melinda-gates-bet-on-this-biotech-to-develop-zika-vaccine.html - will Moderna avail itself of the $100 million (of his own money) Bill Gates has made available to the firm in their bid to have a breakthrough?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZMwKPmsbWE - "End of Ze World" clocks in at roughly 90 seconds. Yes, as in 1.5 minutes, so I hope y'all can endure the heavy toll it exacts upon you. Video creators and their marathons, I swear.

Recorded during the Witching Hour/Devil's Hour (between 03:00 & 04:00 am), oft co-host Jack DeViney goes solo again on a weird string of tangents about...all of the above.

Barring some sort of Atari-like unforeseen fall, DeViney's third go-round of hosting the podcast all by his lonesome...shouldn't go off so bad. But he admits to missing his friend and enterprise partner (and your usual host), Nate Wellein, and (he surmises) by the end of this you will too.

Regardless, a healthy discussion of the role of the citizenry and the scope and role of the US Federal Government follows.
